Fuji Hana, the only hibachi restaurant that I know in the greater Atlanta area, but also the best sushi restaurant that I have ever been to. If you look at the majority of our blogs they are primarily Mexican restaurants, so this is kind of a breath of fresh air to stray away from the norm of our Hispanic food loving blog. This Japanese restaurant has so much to offer in terms of food and culture. Even the soda and glass they provide provides traces from their home country.
I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant because of their sushi selection. Unlike the sushi bar in the student center at Kennesaw, they offer a variety of choices. In Kennesaw, they literally only have five choices and became unappetizing after the first semester. One of the big reasons this restaurant is a success is because of the quality of food. They have fresh ingredients everyday (which is important for a restaurant that serves fish). And have chefs there that create the roll in front of you. Another huge draw to this restaurant is the Hibachi. With chefs giving you a show with your dinner, making onion volcanoes and flipping food in the air for you to catch in your mouth they are giving you live entertainment.
This restaurant is also very family friendly being packed especially during the holidays this is a great place to spend during a birthday or Thanksgiving if you are too lazy to cook anything or don’t have a lot of people coming. They offer a kid’s menu with crayons and have children friendly meals (because we all know that fish isn’t always the best to feed children).
Hours for this restaurant are kind of sporadic, they are open Monday through Friday 11:30am – 2:30 pm and then 4:30pm- 10pm; meaning they close right in the middle of the day. They are also open on Saturday and Sunday from 12pm- 3pm and then 4:30-9:30pm; which I found a little weird that they closed earlier on the weekend. I think they are really limiting themselves by closing at in the middle of the day a lot of companies get out for lunch a little later than others and if they are closing at 2:30 on a weekday in a sense they are putting a cap on how many customers you can get during a lunch crowd.
One of the best attributes of this restaurants is that it is affordable. Sushi is in the ball park of $5- $9. They even have dollar sushi on Mondays. Which is a little misleading because it is $1 per ingredient but usually only a max of four to five ingredients. The Hibachi isn’t over priced either they over special deals to children like 50% off during the weekday and affordable prices for the rest of the family. Their highest priced dish is around $40 but it is designed to feed a table of two or three.
A huge part of the appeal is the décor within the restaurant. Their Japanese appeal brings to life the culture right here in Kennesaw. They are very tight knit on who they hire even when it comes to servers and bus boys, to give you the most out of your experience at Fuji Hana. They have very aesthetic vases and silverware and the paintings on the wall all reflect the Japanese culture behind the nature of the restaurant.

Another great thing about this restaurant is the service. When you think of quality service this has to be near the top of the list. You have to separate this into two different categories: one hibachi and two restaurant booths. At the Hibachi as seen above you are given a very interactive show. The chef will cook your meal in front of you while flipping the spatula and throwing food in the air. They allow you to catch little pieces of chicken in your mouth while also building houses and other cool items on the grill. My personal favorite is when they throw the spatula behind there back and then catch it. On the other side is the sit-down part of the restaurant where they serve sushi and other various Japanese delicacies. I have never seen myself waiting more than 10 minutes without the server coming and checking on us. Sometimes the food can take a little long to come out but in the end, it’s always worth it.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant it is completely affordable especially with the dishes they offer and has great service and a very aesthetic vibe. They are timely with and offer a family friendly condition for a casual dinner or for a holiday. What makes this restaurant special is how they carry themselves. Even with very little competition around them in regard to hibachi and Japanese food, they always stay classy with how they act. Which in the end brings me and many others coming back for more!
